If the Christians of the future read the history of our times as the Christians of today read the history of former Christians, this is what they might observe:
The privileged Christians of the early 21st century despised and hated sexual minorities, or any deviation from their righteous morality. Often in the vast majority, Christians ostracized as strangers even their own children who bravely confessed their homosexual identities. LGBTQ individuals received no welcome and acceptance from Christians whose teacher, Jesus, taught only love. So brutal and intolerant were the Christians that many sexual minorities were driven to despair and even suicide while the Christians blamed as “sin” what they could not help by nature. It was not until the state recognized and legislated equal civil rights of sexual minorities that they began to be treated as fully human.
